Your Go-To Content Partner for Complex Technology.
Hi! I’m Stephan. I position my clients as the obvious choice with:
1) Expert-written content that delivers a home run with even the most sceptical technical or commercial audience.
2) Writing that simplifies complex topics, articulates the substance, and changes minds.
3) Strong narratives that gets your solution on the buying shortlist, and shortens the sales cycle.
Sector Expertise
I’m a good fit for any B2B technology area where the subject matter is technical, complex, or nuanced.
Ex-ITSM, I understand long sales cycles and how mid-market and enterprise customers buy. I get up to speed with new technology quickly, but have strong existing expertise in these verticals.
Services
You can count on me for the written word in almost every (B2B) (technology) shape or form, but these are the content deliverables I work with the most:
-
I can support you with the strategic thinking and positioning that’s the foundation for compelling content. I help you find a distinct point of view and position even in a crowded market – including competitor gap analysis.
-
I craft sharp, value-driven web copy and landing pages that untangle complex tech products, build instant credibility, and drive buyers to act on their status quo.
-
Inform and convert
Hire me for regular blog posts and thought leadership geared to keeping your audience engaged, informed, and up-to-date. From thought leadership pieces to industry news, I produce compelling content that drives engagement and SEO ranking.

I use the power of these comprehensive guides to help you influence key decision-makers and deliver rich content that underscores the value of your products and services.
-
Compelling stories
I document your success stories – and the stories of your clients – in a compelling way through powerful case studies. That includes detailed research and interviews to highlight the effectiveness of your technology solutions: providing a persuasive narrative that illustrates real-world applications and results.
-
Communicate with impact
Detailed and compelling product descriptions and data sheets that showcase the features, benefits, and value of your solution. Designed to clearly communicate complex technological concepts, I develop content that grabs the attention of your audience, driving understanding and stimulating action.
Why Hire Me?
-
Many of my clients are verticals that doesn't attract many content marketers (vs., say, HR SaaS), so it's hard to find a writer with deep existing knowledge. And yes, frankly, in some instances I can't help: where I assess the learning curve is too high, I'll decline the engagement.
For the rest - well, my technical acumen gets us a long way and there are often a fair bit of overlap with sectors I've already worked in. I learn fast, and I can get to grips with technical and niche topics in short order.
-
SMEs can be… less than forthcoming. From experience I know your more technical colleagues are not talkative and even when they are they'll rattle of technical benefits; without always explaining what it means for your ICP.
I know how to ask the right questions - shifting the conversation from features and benefits, to outcomes for your ICP. I always show up prepared and won't waste your SME's valuable time to explore 101s.
-
Just like a seasoned journalist that's seen it all, I've heard just about every promise in tech. (Just like your target audience). You can leave it up to me to discover the interesting angles that make your prospects sit up and pay attention.
And, often, it's about storytelling. Your audience are humans after all - and stories drive the engagement that drives actions.
-
When producing content or copy there's often some guesswork involved. I can't get on Slack to you every time there's a minor decision to be made; but you can rely on me to make sensible commercial and technical judgements, while flagging points when there's a genuine fork in the road.
It means I waste less of your time - both in asking questions, but also in revision rounds. Content and copy are always subjective, but I deliver as close as a done-for-you service as you can get.
-
Like a rabbit in headlights… I appreciate that ambiguity is not always easy to deal with and that ambiguity often freezes progress.
But ambiguity is commonplace when producing written content. E.g.: we're just launching, so we don't know all the facts; we have multiple stakeholders with conflicting views, our ICPs overlap or they're ill-defined. Etc.
Nonetheless, you must cut a path through ambiguity if you want to make progress.
You can rely on me to help you find that path so we can go ahead and execute on your content goals.
-
Born in the Rainbow Nation, I completed primary education in Afrikaans and secondary education in English, spending the majority of my adult life in London - followed, now, by time in lovely Porto, Portugal.
Acceptance and genuine empathy with differences in communication styles is ingrained in the way that I think. You can rely on me to communicate fluently with your team members even if they are not fluent in English.
That said, I accept that it's an imperfect process and involves a degree of best-guessing, but I will make it work. I also understand that progress in multicultural teams requires a degree of deference. But it works - and sometimes it just needs to work.
Cross-cultural friction won't interrupt my process.
-
Doesn't matter what the reason is: lack of time, limited experience, general overwhelm… sometimes you don't know where to kick things off. And let's face it, inaction is the expressway to no results.
I, on the other hand, had so many rodeos with client projects that progress h.a.l.t.i.n.g.l.y., and moved those on, that I feel I can most certainly find a way for us to get traction.
In part it comes down to a structured and step by step approach. Breaking down the complex and finding a starting point.
Often it's just a matter of having someone on the outside that breaks through the groupthink to spark an idea.
-
The challenge with discussing the same thing and over and over internally is that it can hamper progress when you're trying to communicate what you offer to your ICP.
A dash of outside thinking can unlock progress.
In all honesty it's one of the reasons why I'm not specialising in a single niche… before you know it, you're knee-deep in what vendors think matters, when, frankly, your target audience is just looking for the results that matter to them.
An external writer can find gaps and assumptions in your thinking and highlight opportunities.
-
AI can work well in many copy/content scenarios and that the more you invest, the more you get back. (Sometimes the more you invest the less you get back).
But I think, with exceptions, working with an LLM isn't a done-for-you option for busy marketers, unless you’re on the way out and happy to publish slop.
Even more so in technical and niche verticals.
I might not be cheap but I offer done-for-you outcomes that require minimal editing. (And I consume less water than your favourite chatbot).
-
Complex technical topics, vague ICPs, reluctant SMEs, marketing in flux and pressure on your time - it all adds up. As if you're wading through quicksand.
It's cognitive overload, really.
I've faced it too, and I learned to break through cognitive overload with process. I think, deeply, about B2B tech day to day and have tools and methods to cut through complexity.
Even if what I deliver to you isn't the final product, I can almost certainly help you find a path through cognitive burden - as an external partner.
I know what’s at stake when selling a complex technology product: I spent over a decade in IT services management and understand how buying decisions are made. The background research, making a case with stakeholders, the commercial vetting.
That’s why I can help you produce content that unblocks the process.
